Singer 301 FOR SALE

 Singer 301

WE love all of our machines.  We have to move some along, though.  We just cannot sew on all of them  These 301s are lightweight and really nice.  True, it is a straight stitch only machine, but it makes the nicest stitch and sews very fast.  It is gear driven and slant shank.  It isn't as popular as the 221 (aka Featherweight) but it makes every bit as nice a stitch. Plus  there is more room between the needle and the pillar.  It really weighs only a bit more than the FW does.  If I were taking a class, I would take this machine.  It comes with a very nice case.

We are posting it on the Website soon.  Just as soon as I learn how to navigate the Upgrades Weebly made to the web builder.

Check it out for more photos in a day or two.

  1. Beautiful! Looks like it has never been used. My 301 is my absolute favorite. Super fast. I was just playing around with free motion quilting and it turned out so much better than any of my other machines. If I had to keep only one, the 301 is it!

    1. The wonders of digital photography. This machine has been used and I am glad to see the evidence! I have a long bed just for free motion. If I ever can get away from the shop to try it out. Now I am inspired.

  2. I really like the handle on the 301. Is it comfortable to carry? A problem with the 221 is its lack of a handle. By the time you add the weight of the case it's not that light or easy to carry. I wish all machines had handles! I don't have a 301, but I have a 401 and I love the improved visibility with the slant needle.

  3. Hello, I have just purchased a 301 black, short bed to add to my collection of Singer vintage gems..Is there anywhere where I would be able to purchase a long bed extension to replace the short bed, or would that be considered a sin to change a classic machine? I have not yet received the machine yet...It's on it's way to me right now...
