My Kind of Town
I am here in the Windy City for a conference on Diabetes and Thyroid Disease. I am also visiting my sis.
I am having the ultimate urban experience riding the CTA (AKA "EL" ) and walking A LOT.
No sewing machines in my world for these past few days except for reading Grace Cooper's book as I ride the EL to the Loop.
Now off for some Cajun Music. Red Stick Ramblers.

Was wondering why it was so quiet down your end of the state. One of our favorite movies, every year, Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. The movie ends on the CTA when Steve Martin figures out the John Candy character is homeless. Have a great time!
ReplyDeleteRead Grace Cooper's book about 10 years ago. Think it was a little boring but can't really remember. How's it going for you? I'm heading off to visit in Rhode Island - and to pick up 4 machines -- 2 pretty, shiny 201's @ $20, 1 ketherweight @ $30 and 1 drop to treadle kenmore @ $20. Rhode Island has good machines at great prices!!!
ReplyDeleteTwo for 20?
DeleteBeautiful picture! The weather looks fantastic! All my favorites, SISTER, travel, medical, music (throw some Zydeco in with that Cajun!) All you need now is good food and a treadle set up to treadle away with the Red Stick Ramblers! ;) Have a wonderful time!!!
ReplyDeleteBTW! Rhode Island sounds like sewing machine mecca to me!
