Just the same, the natives are saying it is cool here. True, I have to wear a light sweater and the sun did not come out until the afternoon. But shoot, it's almost NOVEMBER !
Thomas Hood, clearly did not live in Southern California
November
No sun - no moon!
No morn - no noon -
No dawn - no dusk - no proper time of day.
No warmth, no cheerfulness, no healthful ease,
No comfortable feel in any member -
No shade, no shine, no butterflies, no bees,
No fruits, no flowers, no leaves, no birds! -

Tomorrow we go to LA for some Craftsman House tours. Sunday we do the Beach Show and look for artisan crafts. Monday we fly home.
Today, though , we went to some vintage stores. The only sewing machine I saw was a toy. I did buy a souvenir; a letter caddy made in India. It's perfect for storing scissors on the cutting table. So every time I use the scissors I will remember our trip out here and what fun we had with our family.
Enjoy your trip! I miss California. Northern California! Will you be making it to the fabric district? I haven't been down there in YEARS!!!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds wonderful! Have a fantastic time!!
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoyed your visit! I'm in Riverside County, East of Los Angeles. Almost always sunny here, we love the weather a bit inland. San Diego was notoriously gloomy in the mornings, and made my bones ache. Love your blog!
