Paint Job

I guess I won't be doing much sewing or machine repair for a while.  We have undertaken our every 15 year paint job.
Fortunately the north side of the house can wait until next year.  I scrubbed the front and back porch walls today.  Scraping is next but there isn't too much of that.  I hate prepping ceilings.  I will reward myself when I complete that nasty chore.  Hmmmmm.  I wonder what I will chose as a reward.

  1. My husband has been scraping, sanding, replacing rot just on our garage and it is wearing him out. It is all primed and he is waiting for energy to paint it. He washed and scrubbed it all with TSP. Lots of work, can't imagine your whole house. It is a very attractive house. Love the rock and porch.

  2. Like seeing the house. Love the front porch with the rocks especially, My daughter had hers painted a couple of weeks ago. After they had it washed it down we had lots of rain every day so there was a delay being able to paint. She was all in a tizzy because it was in this prep stage due to the weather and she is so particular about her house. I think that is a good idea to keep the paint in rotation of a big house like that if one is doing the painting and prep themselves. I always kept the trim on ours as white so I could do it in stages when I was younger. Ours is a brick ranch type so I only would have to prep and paint the trim. I now have the trim covered with vinyl so only get it pressure washed down. I'd be in trouble if I had a whole house to paint or even trim now as I can't do much of that type work any more. Definitely reward yourself.

  5. My husband and I painted my little bitty house about 25 years ago. The house seemed huge by the time we were done. I don't envy you!
