ALL SAINTS 700 NORTH MICHIGAN AVE, CHICAGO, IL

The clothes are ugly and dark.  But you gotta love the Signature.  All of the All Saints stores are decorated with old sewing machines.

  1. I think I would pass out if I saw so many vintage machines. Are they just decoration?

    1. Yes, they are all just for show. All the clothes are made in China.

  2. I love the first photograph of the sewing machines in the window. And it's amazing to see the wall of sewing machines. Part of me thinks, oh how sad that someone isn't using those machines! Thanks for sharing the photos.

    1. How sad, indeed. But better on the wall than in the landfill.

  4. They have one of these in Boston; not my style of fashion (plus WAY overpriced), but that window of sewing machines is really Cool!

    1. 122 Newberry St,Boston, MA. That was the first one I saw. This one we just happened upon on our walk down Michigan Ave. And I thought my trip was going to be devoid of sewing machines! HAH!

  5. I love these stores, but they make me laugh when I see an ad on Craigslist for a supposedly rare antique sewing machine. Antique, maybe, but rare?

    1. Or on Evil Bay. We can just send them photos of this if we were so inclined.

    1. Didn't have my screwdriver with me. Next time. Or maybe when I go to Boston, I will check Newberry Street and see if they have one there. Bet they do. Maybe I should send Max. HAH!

    1. I didn't even look at the clothes. All gray and ugly. Just looking at the machines.

  9. I love this store even the ugly dark clothes. I would loveto be able to afford to dress like that.

    1. Oh but Nanette, you can afford it! Don't you sew? Make your own and the clothes you make will fit better!

  10. The walls of sewing machines that will never again be used just make me so very sad. I'd be grieving by the time I came out. I honestly do not believe these machines would otherwise have been in landfills--but now they *will* be there someday.
